About Devon

Before moving to Lethbridge where he lives with his wife, Devon Hargreaves grew up in northern and southern Alberta, including Fort McMurray. While pursuing a career in insurance, he has worked hard as a dedicated community advocate and non-profit leader.

During his two years as Chair of Lethbridge Pride Fest, the organization won the City of Lethbridge “Celebrate Downtown” award for Event of the Year. Co-founding YQueerL Society for Change, Devon was a leader in local, provincial, and federal movements to ban conversion therapy, the harmful practice of trying to change an individual’s sexual orientation, and was the recipient of Lethbridge Pride Fest 2020 ‘Legacy Award’ in recognition for these efforts. Thanks to Devon’s leadership, conversion therapy was banned in Canada in December 2021.

With a commitment to promoting liberal values in Alberta, Devon ran in the 2019 provincial election, and most recently ran in the 2021 federal election for the Liberal Party of Canada in the Lethbridge constituency. He currently serves as the Liberal Party of Canada (Alberta) Southern Alberta Regional Chair, and as Organizational Chair for the Lethbridge Liberal EDA.
